  1. anything a child could write with crayons, felts, chalks, pencils, crayons mark making means making marks on paper.

  2. Try this activity: trays of glitter and sticks or mark making tools with rubber tips. The children love making marks in these treays as you can give them a little shake and the mark is gone so you can make another one!!

  3. ANYTHING that makes marks:

Paper, card, black board, white board, corrigated card---anything really even a wall :)

Then pens, pencils, chalk, paint...and water (water painting on walls)

And you can make it more fun:

sand-thin layer-wet-children can use finger to make marks.

spagetti-dip in paint and throw at paper on wall-you can pull it to make wiggly patterns.

-paint and brushes but use toothbrush, nail brush, large paint brushes for different marks.

you can include stencils, things to trace etc to add more 'structure' to the marks.
