The former PSV midfielder insists that he will leave the San Siro only if Milan or the player’s family wants him to; maintains that Rossoneri are his first choice.
Mark van Bommel’s agent has suggested that the player could sign a new deal with A.C Milan at the end of the season.
The veteran, who is heavily linked with a move to his former club, PSV, has expressed his intention to stay with the Italian Champions.
While talking to De Telegraaf, agent Mino Raiola said:
“Milan and Mark have matured a lot together. In principle, the intention is to continue.”
The agent insisted that the midfielder will only leave the Italian Champions, if he fails to fit in the Rossoneri plans for the future.
“We’ll only ponder other situations if Milan don’t consider Mark as part of their plans or if the player’s family want a return to Holland.”
The Dutch captain is an important member in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans, having made 27 appearances for the Diavolo already this season. However, whether the club would still want the 34-year-old, will be decided at the end of
the ongoing season.
The agent was full of praise for his client, claiming the Dutchman as the best midfielder in the country.
“I saw Mark play against Juventus. I think he is the best player in his position in Italy.”
The playmaker’s agent expressed that the player is welcome at the Casciavit, and only personal reasons could separate him from the Italian Champions.
“I think only personal reasons could see him end his adventure with Milan.”
Van Bommel joined A.C Milan from Bayern Munich in January 2011, and played a major role in the Rossoneri’s title triumph. During his tenure at the Allianz Arena, he led the team to two Bundesliga titles and also finished runners-up
in the 2010 UEFA Champions League. He remains the only non-German player to have captained the Bavarian giants.
The former Barcelona star is the current captain of Netherland’s national team, and also the son-in-law to Dutch national team manager, Bert van Marwijk.
