The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Bayern Munich midfielder has stressed that he will walk away from International football if the Oranje achieve European championship glory.

However, the Dutch midfielder has insisted that he could continue playing for his national side until the 2014 World Cup, if his side fails to lift the trophy this summer.
The 35-year-old has thus far donned the jersey of the Flying Dutchman in 74 matches since making his debut in a World Cup qualifier against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cyprus-c2881 in October 2000, which his side won convincingly by 4-0.
Van Bommel has revealed that he will bring the curtains down on his playing career with the Oranje, if his side manage to emerge victorious in Euro 2012.
“I will definitely retire from international football if we win Euro 2012 this summer. But I'm keeping all options open aside from that”, Van Bommel was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The Dutchman, however, went on to insist that he could continue playing if his side fails to land the trophy.
“I might continue playing for two or three more years, and could continue with Oranje as well. I haven't made a final decision about the national team yet, unless we win Euro 2012. I haven't even really thought about it”, Van Bommel
concluded.
Netherlands have been drawn in the Group B alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, and will commence their European Championship voyage against the Danish Dynamite on June 9.
Despite being drawn in the toughest group of the competition, the Oranje have a bright chance of progressing through to the next phase. However, they know it will not be an easy task to make their way to the knock-out round.
The Flying Dutchman, who were runners-up in World Cup 2010, have failed to win any major tournament since their Euro 1988 triumph, when the Oranje cruised to an impressive 2-0 win over Soviet Union. Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten
netted a goal each in the victory.
