Marked Man to nail his seasonal debut in the Bet In Play At Ladbrokes Handicap Chase at Towcester on 26th March
Towcester is to become home for the Class 5 Bet In Play At Ladbrokes Handicap Chase which will be raced over three miles and 110 yards on Monday, 26th March. The race has attracted a lineup of eleven runners who are five-year and older thoroughbreds.
The lineup comprises of quite a few who have either won at Towcester during the previous season or have raced without excelling in it. Either ways, the majority comprises of contenders who do have sufficient racing experience at Towcester.
Among them the most convincing for today’s race is Marked Man, Grand Plaisir’s sixteen-year-old bay gelding out of mare Teazle. He will be attempting his seasonal debut today and has raced at Towcester twice during the previous season, once winning the race and then scoring second in the next.
Marked Man won the Directresponsemarketing.Co.UK Hair Loss Treatments Handicap Chase at Towcester over three miles and a half furlong on 5th October.
Riding with Jake Greenall, the winner shoved the 100/30 favourite of the race, Overton Lad, into the second slot while leading by three lengths. Parking on the other end of the wire after the runner up was Von Galen.
Another note worthy entry on the lineup is Jolly Boys Outing, Glacial Storm’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare St Carol, who raced at Towcester five times in a row during the 2011 season and started off with bagging the first one, scoring second in the next start and then striking three third positions.
Jolly Boys Outing was successful in the Remember Colin & Smile Handicap Chase on 28th March 2011 at Towcester over three miles and a half furlong.
Riding with Mr. B. J. Poste, the winner took charge of the final nine lengths as the runner up, Filippo Lippi, followed closely in the tracks.
Jolly Boys Outing cracked into the new season on 22nd January but could not claim the race. He has raced twice during the season till yet and has still not bagged any of the two starts.
The two are bound to give each other hard time as one wants to change the losing impression through the third start of the season while the other wants to stamp his seasonal debut.
