I have a mail shot to go out in the form of a marketing/sales letter.

I have my list of contacts to send them out to.

I dont how ever have any images of my products within this mail shot.

How would you advise adding images of my products to this mail shot?

I need the most cost effective way!

Many thanks.

  1. Print a picture on the envelope next to address or on the back.  Or add a small cutting of the picture in the envelope.

I imagine both ways would cost a similar amount of money.

  2. Do you have a website?  If you do, all you need is one image in your letter and refer readers to the site to see more.

Make sure you print your mailer on good quality paper - 100gsm at least - so that it feels good to the reader and the picture of your product reproduces well.  Just make a text box in your letter and insert an image in it.

The idea of an image on the envelope may work but I know I'd feel it was a mailshot so I'd leave it at the bottom of the heap of post to be opened.

Hand write or use a handwriting font on your envelopes so that people at least open your mailer.  Don't use address labels, another sign of bulk mailings.

More important than an image of your product is the call to action in your letter.  Make sure your readers know what to do next after reading it. Maybe it's that they visit your website and proceed to ordering your products or they call you to arrange an appointment for a demonstration.

    Good luck with your campaign!
