Markeys Lee to defy his rivals in September Puppy at Henlow
Lack of experience of running at Henlow is a serious issue, but the consistent way Markeys Lee has been performing over the past few weeks, it is hard to ignore his chances in the September Puppy, taking place on Thursday, September 6th.
If one looks at his recent stats, he will hardly find something wrong, barring the luck factor. H. Dimmock’s trainee narrowly missed the gold medal last twice. In his latest appearance at Peterborough, the black dog ran fantastically despite a crowded start.
He did an incredible job, but found Border Chief too strong. Had he not been crowded in the begging, he would have grabbed the big prize.
Markeys Lee’s Peterborough form reads well. He recorded his last win on August 10th, when he performed terrifically. Despite getting bumped at the start, the son of Boherna On Air kept his cool, and eventually bagged the victory by three and a
half lengths.
There are certainly some in-form hounds in the pack, but Markeys Lee is no less dangerous. He is more than capable of outpacing his rivals, including Westmead Meteor, Unlikely Ash, Blackrose Eric, Urban Lady and Toyoutome.
According to the preset plan, the 460 metres contest will be started at 19:54 GMT. The open race holds a prize of £150, which will go with the ultimate champion.
Urban Lady is in tremendous form these days, as she won three of previous four races. The black b***h has been given a huge up in class, because she made it look too easy at the lower level. The push is so big that we expect her to panic.
Toyoutome failed to seriously trouble the judge in three starts so far in his career. Unlikely Ash has started finishing his feet at the competitive level. However, he needs to ride luck right from the start.
Blackrose Eric has been full of running in the latter stages. Westmead Meteor can be given a narrow vote, but we don’t expect him to thrive. N. Savva’s trainee has been unlucky over the last couple of weeks, and unless he wins a race, it is hard to declare
him a safe option.
