Question:

Markings on a Pool Table?

by  |  earlier

I've had a pool table for a couple of months now, and pretty much placed the balls where it looked right.

The table is 7' long, and I haven't been able to find any diagrams or guides on where to put all of the markings. Can anybody help me out?

  1. You only heed one spot on the table. The one at the breaking end. The other spot is really unnecessary but you can place it if you like. You can run a piece of string from end to end of the table at the middle diamonds and another piece from side to side at the second diamond up and where these strings intersect is the exact location for the spot. It may sound a little confusing but if you look at dirtys diagram you'll see what i mean.

  2. check this site out and notice they are using the diamonds or spots on the rails for the marking systems.

  3. Do a search for "POOL TABLE MARKING KIT". I know there are some on Ebay

  4. Your pool table should have 3 diamonds or dots on each rail. The spot (sticker to be placed on the pool table cloth) should be placed at the intersection of the center diamonds.

Here is a link to an image to visually explain what I mean.

Notice where the head spot and foot spot are located in relation to the black dots on the rails of the pool table.

  5. you measure the table in half(both ways). Then you measure the half's in half(both ways). Where the end point is that is where your dots go.
