The Hoffenheim boss has expressed his disappointment on the league loss to Bayern Munich this weekend and has urged his side to step up.
The Bavarian giants secured their seventh straight win in the Bundesliga to maintain their lead at the top of the table. They downed Hoffenheim with a 2-0 scoreline as Franck Ribery scored a brace. The loss leaves Hoffenheim in
13th place from the seven games played. The side has secured seven points in total and are a staggering 14 points behind Bayern Munich.
Babbel claimed that the hosts were too strong for his team and insisted that the home side deserved all three points from the game as they played some sensational football. He admitted that his team could have taken some of their
chances in attack which could have made things better for them.
The former Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 boss stressed that the defence put in a great performance and were unfortunate to concede two goals. He stated that the attackers will have to step up for the future games if the club needs to qualify for
Europe at the end of the campaign.
“I think the victory was deserved, but I’m not dissatisfied with the way we played, as we did a lot of things well. For all that, you always need a little bit of luck in a match like that. It was a very, very good performance defensively,
but we lacked conviction in attack,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, club skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marvin-Compper-c24492 admitted that Bayern were way too strong for his side and is keen to make a strong comeback in the next league fixture.
“All in all, we didn’t pose enough of a threat to take anything from the game. We wanted to keep it tight and stop them making chances, but it was hard to come back after falling behind. We did have a few chances but failed to
take them,” he concluded.
Hoffenheim will next take on Greuther Furth at home on Friday, October 19, in the Bundesliga. They will be determined to finish the season in the top eight.
