The Hoffenheim manager has expressed his satisfaction after emerging with a point against Schalke at the weekend.
Hoffenheim manager, Markus Babbel, has expressed his pleasure after playing out a 1-1 draw against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues last weekend. Schalke travelled to the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Sunday, April 1, and lost their opportunity to build
the lead on Borussia Monchengladbach. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-c21175 netted for the visitors.
Babbel hailed his team’s display and reckons that the side was unlucky not to win against Huub Stevens’ men. He felt that his players had the game under control for majority of the period before a stupid mistake late in the game
allowed Huntelaar to level things up.
However, he mused that Hoffenheim were a far better side on the night and must be praised for keeping a team like Schalke at bay.
While talking to Bundesliga.de, Babbel further added:
“I feel really sorry for my lads. We played really well for 70 minutes, but in the end we didn't have the strength. Overall I think a draw against Schalke is fair enough, even if we could have got the win with a bit of luck. Nevertheless,
I have to pay credit to my team for their performance. ”
On the other hand, Schalke manager, Huub Stevens, showed his disappointment after dropping two important points against an inconsistent Hoffenheim. He admitted that his team played extremely poorly throughout the game and were
lucky to get a point out of the game.
Stevens’ believes that fatigue should not be an excuse for the players and that the team should be able to give more than hundred percent in every game.
“I'm very disappointed, especially with the way we played in the first half. You have to be happy with a point after a first half like that. A professional has to be able to play three matches in a week,” the boss concluded.
As a result of this draw, Hoffenheim stay 10th on the league table with 34 points while Schalke remain third with 54. Babbel’s men will travel to Kaiserslautern next whereas the Gelsenkirchen outfit will take on Athletic
Bilbao in the return leg of their Europa League last-right tie.
