The Hoffenheim manager has expressed his desire to sign the Werder Bremen goalkeeper prior to the start of next season.
Hoffenheim tactician, Markus Babbel, has revealed his interest in Werder Bremen shot stopper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 on Saturday, April 28, at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
Wiese will run out of contract at his current club by the end of this season and be available on a free transfer. The goalkeeper has been one of the club’s mainstays since joining them in 2005 from FC Kaiserslautern. However, the
30-year-old has himself wished to part ways with the River Islanders in surge of silverware.
Babbel confirmed his interest in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international but mentioned that there are a few other clubs who are keen to sign Wiese. He stated that Hoffenheim rates Wiese highly as a player and an individual and therefore would
be privileged to have a player of such quality in their ranks.
The boss mused that clubs such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, AC Milan and Real Madrid have also showed their desire to recruit the Bremen shot stopper. He raised doubts whether Wiese would choose Hoffenheim over these big-name clubs but assured
him of first team opportunities which might not be the case at the other interested clubs.
While talking to Bild, Babbel further added: "We are competing with Real and the Milan clubs. If Tim decides to join us, I'd be very proud. I want to sign him because I have a very high opinion of him and he would also provide
us with more athleticism in goal."
On the other hand, Wiese confirmed about an interest from Hoffenheim but remained coy over his decision. He, though, enthused that it is certain that this is going to be his last season at the Weserstadion having spent seven long
years in Bremen.
Wiese has so far made 187 league appearances for the club and earned his Germany debut in 2006. He has six international caps under his belt until now and is unlikely to become a part of Joachim Low’s 23-men squad for the upcoming
Euro championship in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032.
