Markus Deibler, Caroline Ruhnau and Sina Sutter win vital meets in German World Championship Trials
Day two of the German World Championship Trials ended with the outstanding performances of several swimmers including Caroline Ruhnau, Markus Deibler and Martin Grodzki in the 50m breast-stroke, 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 50m butterfly and many others
categories in Berlin, Germany, on June 1.
In the Women’s 50m breast-stroke prelims, Ruhnau picked up the top seed in 31.73 seconds and improved to the 23rd spot in the world rankings. Sarah Poewe wound up second in 31.92 seconds and Laura Simon stood third in a time of 32.06 seconds.
The Men’s 100m freestyle title was snagged by Markus Deibler with a sterling time of 48.97 seconds. The win moved him to the 24th place in the international rankings. Marco Di Carli finished second in 49.18 seconds and Steffen Deibler earned the
third spot in 49.56 seconds.
In the Men’s 400m freestyle event, Martin Grodzki wound up first with a sterling time of 3 minutes and 52.29 seconds. Christian Kubusch picked up the top two seed in 3 minutes and 52.34 seconds and Paul Biedermann settled third in a time of 3 minutes and
52.56 seconds.
Sina Sutter took home the Women's 50m butterfly title with a time of 27.28 seconds and Paulina Schmiedel earned the second spot in 27.31 seconds.
Poewe topped the Women's 200m breast-stroke event with a winning time of 2 minutes and 27.93 seconds. Vanessa Grimberg earned the second position in 2 minutes and 29.78 seconds.
Silke Lippok snagged the Women’s 100m back-stroke meet with a time of 1 minute and 01.85 seconds, while Jenny Mensing was placed second in a time of 1 minute and 01.93 seconds.

Tim Wallburger edged through the Men's 200m butterfly prelims with a winning time of 1 minute and 58.26 seconds, while Melvin Herrmann secured the second spot in 2 minutes and 02.11 seconds.
Franziska Hentke clinched the Women's 200m butterfly round with a time of 2 minutes and 12.45 seconds, whereas, Lena Kalla finished second in 2 minutes and 13.09 seconds.
The Men’s 200m breast-stroke title was nabbed by Marco Koch with a time of 2 minutes and 12.80 seconds, while Christian Vom Lehn earned the second spot in 2 minutes and 12.84 seconds.
