Marlin 1894c 357Mag?

Question

Hello

Can anyone tell me the date of manufacture of my Marlin underlever its serial number is ..99071349.

It has a chequered stock,would this give any clues to its age as I have been told that Marlin produced these carbines without chequering for some time but I am not sure if this is true.

I have thought about phoning Marlin for this information but as I live in the UK this will be my last resort.

If the old system survived Y2K your gun was made in 2001

subtract the first two numbers of the serial from 100

Its no more than 30 years old probably. The one my dad has is about that old. Did you ever go try it at 300 yds? Just curious if ya tried it. lol.

Just email Marlin with the Model number and serial number, and they can tell you when it was manufactured.*
