Marlins Ballpark marks a new chapter in the history of Miami Marlins - MLB Update
First 19 Major League seasons and this one will stand in stark contrast in the history of Miami Marlins. It’s a new world there, with stars sitting on the roster, retractable roof planted on the park, fans from all across the country barging in, Marlins
park has changed the whole complexion of what used to be the Florida Marlins.
No more humidity, no undue delays due to the weather and it seems years of tolerance that the fans showed in being put under sweltering heat has borne fruit now.
The park is more than just a baseball ground, due consideration has been given for constant entertainment of fans other than play. Whenever there is a home-run struck, asculpture will shine, much to the fascination of fans.
In the old ballpark, attendance was limited owing to lack of facilities for fans and the fact there were no ancillary entertainment options, they found it not very stimulating going there.
Part of the reason of near complete transformation of Miami Marlins as a club is an anticipation of huge profits on completion of ballpark. As luxurious as this park is, fans from every corner of the country will throng and thus higher profits will become
a reality.
Just because the club felt an imminence of profits, they went on a rampage in off-season player acquisition. While hitherto unfamiliar names will sit on their roster, now the same stands graced with presence of three all-star players. This became possible
through lavish spending they were able to make.
Jeffrey Loria, Marlins owner, is all-praise of new revelation the team has given way to and for him, its construction is an ultimate source of pleasure.
He was the one who came up with an idea, which now stands materialised in the form of a roof retractable ballpark.
“You can make all the drawings and have all the ideas, but it eventually has to be built and put together in a way that you’re more than happy with, and I am,” said Loria. “When all the parts come together, and I don’t mean just the art images, it’s the
totality of everything that makes this such a wonderful experience.”
While Marlins have a decorated roster with big wigs, it remains to be seen whether they will be as effective as they have been in their careers. Therefore whether real change in the fate of club in terms of season performances will occur is not yet certain.
