Marlon Samuels, the West Indian batsman, is delighted with his performance in the fourth One Day International (ODI) against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 at St. Lucia.
West Indies lost the toss and were asked to bat first by the visitors. The Caribbean men were in trouble at one stage of the innings, having lost three wickets for just 63 runs on the board. Samuels, who struggled in the initial
three matches of the series, coped the Pakistani bowling with a lot more positivity.
The right-handed batsman completed his century in the very last over of the innings and remained unbeaten on 106, which came off merely 104 balls with the help of nine boundaries and four massive hits out of the park.
Despite the fact that West Indies lost the match by six wickets, Samuels was named as the Player of the Match for his outstanding ton. The hard-hitting batsman is optimistic about the future of West Indies cricket and wants the
fans to be patient.
The cricketer from Jamaica revealed that he was desperate for a good performance, which was the reason behind his expressive jubilation upon reaching the three-figures.
"West Indies cricket is still on the rise so we want the fans to stay with us. I set high standards and I'm still in good nick. If you look at my career I have never failed consistently,” said Samuels. “The coach has been telling
the players to give ourselves a chance. There is some fire burning inside me so I had to let it off (while celebrating)."

The last ODI of the series is going to be played on Wednesday at St. Lucia, which will be followed by the two-match T20 series.
