Marnie for a girl?

I have always loved the name Marnie for a girl. What do you think of it? What can it be short for besides Marnina? What is the best spelling? Also I really dislike how the "r" and "n" together look like an 'M" anyone agree? But Marnie is still cute tho.

  1. It's okay, but I definitely like Marley better. It's one of my favorite names.

  2. Marnie is cute - I think you could use this as a first name in itself rather than a nickname.  Good luck :)

  3. Mar- nie  - typing she'd always want a non-std font!

It sounds like an "old" name.. like my great niece who is named Lerlene.  Just not in this century.

It could be a nick name for Marie Ann(e).  Might look at some French names to see if there is a better fit for it.  Marnina makes me think of red sauce for my cheese sticks.

You can name her just about anything and still use it for your special name for her.

I agree-- anything that could be easily shortened to Ray shouldn't be used for a girl.

  4. Um, I've heard worse. It's okay (don't think they kid would kill you for it, but that's just my guess).

  5. Marnie is cute. It means rejoice in hebrew.

You could change it slightly to Mainie

or Maayan. Maayan means spring of water in Hebrew.

    xx

  6. Marnie is the name of my great-aunt. lol. So she's who I picture. Kind of sounds like Barney... which of course reminds me of a green polka dotted purple dinosaur... eh.

    Marnina??? No...

Raylin sounds too trendy to me. Would you call her Ray for short? I'd hate to be called Ray...

Marley reminds me of Bob Marley. I wouldn't use it.

    Sorry!! =)
