  1. I had two cherry headed conures, they were loud and never seemed to rest, even when covered.I gave them up for this reason. I prefer african grey parrots they can be hilarious.

  2. Pick one you CAN take care of....they are NOT cheap! You have to take it to the vet....buy lots of toys....food....vet....cage...cage cover....pay to get the nails and wings trim....buy play gyms...have to give time away from the cage....birds are EXTREMELY LOUD.... most birds will also outlive you!

  3. I have both. One of each, together in a large cage. They have totally different personalities, and they are always side by side, but one is not better than the other. Never do they fight.  My maroon belly is the more aggressive one. Either one for a pet will make you happy. I guess if I HAD to choose, I would have to go with the Green Cheek. I just think that they are the prettier of the two.

  4. I have a green cheek conure and I love her to death. I have raised her since she was only about a month and a half old. They are known as the "quiet" conure. Everyone conure is somewhat loud when they want your attention, but compared to others they are a lot less noisy. I love the green cheek. They are beautiful birds with great personalities. My conure, Sadie, is best friends with my 2 year old son. She is great with kids. She talks, hangs upside down, wrestles with my hand, lays on her back, cuddles with me. She is very gentle. The only time she screams is when she wants out of her cage. (that's because I go to school full time so as soon as I get home she wants to come out to play). As far as I know they are about the same except the maroon bellied conures don't have the green cheeks. The best advice I can give you is to buy one right out of the nusery so you can raise it from a baby. That way you can train it and bond with it. Good luck in choosing. Conures are wonderful birds.

  5. I've had both. They're both good pets when treated right. As for choosing between them, pick the prettier one.
