Giuseppe Marotta, the director general for Juventus, has recently stated that the club will look at what the January transfer window has to offer
The Juve management is yet to reveal it's plans about which players they want to add to the side and which players need to be dropped.
Although it is a well known fact that no major signings occur during the winter transfer window, but there is still the surprise possibility of big name hiring if the price is right and the opportunity exists.
Marotta was hopeful before Wednesday’s win over Shakhtar Donetsk and wished that his side would win, which they did 1-0. He was confident that the Old Lady would get the win because the outfit was in the right state of mind and
were feeling hungrier.
“This game is certainly an important test for the team. We arrive at this match with confidence, knowing we have the right cards in our hand to play,” said the decision maker to the media.
According to the higher up, the Turin side was put in a difficult group with names suc as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and the Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk. He felt that triumphs against these tougher sides will get the confidence of the players
going, which would make upcoming games with lesser clubs easier to win.
“When Juve take part in any competition, they must always try to achieve the best result. We are still growing, but getting into the top 16 clubs in Europe would allow us – with a little luck – to face easier opponents than in
this group," commented the General Manager ahead of the fixture against Donetsk.
Back to the transfer window possibilities, the GM hinted that the club might make new signings if the club qualifies for the round of 16 at the UEFA Champions League. Although he was pretty confident that the side could do well
with the current lineup as well.
“The club will evaluate what the transfer market offers us in January, but the squad has done well so far," stated Beppe Marotta.
