Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has acknowledged that his summer signing, Marouane Chamakh, has been struggling for his best form in recent weeks after being overworked at the beginning of the season.

Chamakh’s introduction to English football in his debut season was very impressive in the starting months of this season, but the Moroccan international has failed to shine in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old striker joined the Gunners on a free transfer from French outfit Bordeaux in the summer transfer window. Chamakh has not scored in his last three matches and Arsenal manager will now have to decide if he will put Chamakh on the sidelines in
tonight’s crucial match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
Arsenal’s talismanic striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726 are both deemed fully fit to play, and this could be the opportunity to give Marouane Chamakh a chance to rest.

“Marouane has given a lot,” says Wenger. “He has played a lot on his own up front. He is a bit tired at the moment. He's used to having a winter break in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 at this stage of the season. He has played nearly every game since the start of the season. He feels
that he had a little dip physically, but he's working very hard in training to come back.”
Arsenal are currently placed third on the Barclays Premier League table, with 32 points to their credit out of 17 Premier League games. The North London giants take on fourth-placed city rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
