Marquez’s promoter insists on another Marquez vs. Pacquiao – Boxing News
Juan Manuel Marquez had previously insisted Filipino Manny Pacquiao to fight him once again later this year. However, back then, Pacquiao’s team did not pay much attention to Marquez request. Now, since Pacquiao has lost to Bradley, Marquez’s trainer believes
it is better for Pacquiao to face his fighter instead of going head to head with Bradley again this year.
In his recent interview, promoter Fernando Beltran insisted, “The logical thing for the sport is for Manny and Juan to fight. I will work very hard to make this fight happen.”
He added, “I'm speaking for myself, but it's a logical thing, and it makes more sense. It's not official, but I believe it's the fight the fans want more. And I know Manny will like the fight for the fans.”
For now, Fernando is pushing Manny Pacquiao for the fight. However, neither Bob Arum nor the Pac-man commented on Fernando’s claims. Fernando believes a fourth fight between Marquez and Pacquiao will be more entertaining than a second fight between Bradley
and Pacquiao.
It should be noted here that last month Bob Arum clearly indicated that he is not planning another Marquez vs. Pacquiao bout anytime soon.
For now, Manny Pacquiao is in the Philippines helping the flood victims. When asked about his defeat and his plans for a rematch against Bradley, Pacquiao said that whatever happened they should accept it wholeheartedly and that maybe God has a better plan
for him. On the other hand, Joel Diaz, trainer for Bradley, believes Bradley had fought hard and that he deserves appreciation for his hard work.
The chaos created by the controversial decision between both the fighters has left the entire boxing world upset, including fighters, promoters, managers and everyone else. Former boxer Oscar de la Hoya believes Bradley lost and that he should have been
noble enough to give Pacquiao the title back and accept his defeat, despite whatever judges had to say. However, Bradley believes that he won against Pacquiao.
For now, Bradley wants a rematch against Pacquiao so that he can beat the Filipino in a more decisive way to get the respect he deserves.
