  1. you get your work permit within 3 months. You get your 2 yr temporary from 1 yr to 1.5 yr from then. After that, you get a 10 yr extension. This is what happened with me at least. Hope this helps.

  2. Processing times depend on where you submit your application. Check out: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes....

After you're married and your spouse files for you to become a permanent resident, it can take about 6 months to 1.5 yrs before you actually get your card.  However, if you file right away and at a US consulate (if outside the US) or a USCIS office (if in the US), you might get "I-94 filed" stamp in your passport that allows you to stay until you get your 2 yr temporary permanent residency card, and you should be able to stay in the US as soon as you're married.  I can't find anything official to promise this, but that's what happened with my mom (that was 1995).

If you want to get married in the US, you're meant to come on a K-1 visa as a fiancee, and you need to file a I-295F USCIS form to get it (follow my link).  I think it's considerably more expensive than a tourist visa, but they look on you having it favorably when your permanent residency application is filed.  The K-1 gives you 90 days to get married to the US citizen who filed it.

    Congratulations!
