He can not marry a second wife without your concent. This is requiered by algerian law. It is not easy to justify before algerian council why he would need a second wife. So you can still say no.

I have been married to an algerian man for 17 yrs and have 3 children with him. He has been meeting a single Algerian woman for 1 yr and now wants to make her his second wife.  However, her family do not know that he is already married and wants to keep me as his first wife, he wants me to live back in UK and her to remain in Algeria with him. We are legally married in UK and had our Muslim Fatiha and are registered with the Algerian consolate in the UK.  His has remained in Algeria and wants to set up home with this woman. Can you advise me if this is legal?
