Marriage on a Tourist Visa. Is that possible?

My partner resides in Dubai and I in Australia.

We plan to get married (civil ceremony) in Oct this year.

Applying for a Intension for Marriage Visa, takes upto 8-10months, (which is too long of a wait), therefore we have decided to get married when he visits me on a tourist visa in Oct.

I am not sure if we are able to get married if he visits me on a Tourist Visa? Is that possible or am I breaking some sort of rules and regulations?

May be you need to check on minimum stay in the country that you have to stay if you want to get married..........check the embassy's website......
