Marriage records in Egypt

Question

I want to find out if a person has a wife in Egypt and have looked online for sites but came up empty handed. He visits Egypt whenever he has time off from his job and when asked why he visits he doesn't respond. I can find public info in the states and UK but not there. Does it exist? Thanks for any help

unfortunately no there is not. but you could check with the egyptian embassy if they could give you this information.

but as an egyptian i would tell you for sure he isn't going back for his family and often do egyptian men get into other relations when abroad even if they are happily married.

That is very easy now, If he wants to get married to you, a condition is to provide an approval  from the Egyptian embassy in your country , they will ask him to provide a document called Family status document, he must do that in Egypt,  from the police station to which his ID belongs, with the new Egyptian ID, and the national numbers , all his information is stored in a chip there, so he can not cheat on that, and this family status document will show the truth,, based on that the Egyptian embassy either will get him the approval or not... the only problem is that if he is married unofficially (something like a marriage with a contract with no notarization by the government ) and that will never be known,,,

If you know his national number   (similar to the social number in USA)which is shown in his Egyptian ID , any Egyptian lawyer (or any person in Egypt) can check that also , as i said all his information is stored now ,in   the ministery of interior computers)

um tricky one...... First contact the Egyptian embassy and notary office in Cairo and ask for these records but you may need to make up a good lie as to why you need this info but honestly I doubt you will have any luck there............. also in Egypt there is a kind of marraige called an Urfi/Orfi marriage which is a secret marriage and no record will ever be found.........
