  1. It's in Versailles(Chateau du Versailles) and it's 22 Km from Paris, they also used The Louvre in Paris.

You can visit it , long rows of waiting best book in advance your tickets from the Internet.

I also have to tell you that the real name where she was in prisoned was La Bastille and that's gone only they left one stone over(that you can visit on " The Place the la Concorde " where she was beheaded).

Her grave and that of her husband is in "Dome des Invalides" in Paris, still her head is under one of the pavements in Paris buried.

  2. Marie Antoinette lived at the Chateau of Versailles. A very grand place but not a castle in the usual sense of the word.

Versailles is 22km (about 13 miles) from the center of Paris.

After the Revolution she was imprisoned first in the old headquarters of the Knights Templar (which was demolished by Napoleon)  and then  within the Conciergerie, a real medieval castle, located in Paris. It was from this place that she was taken to be guillotined at what is now called the Place de la Concorde.

Both Versailles and the Conciergerie are still there and both are open to public viewing.

Various parts of Versailles are always being restored and its preservation is a constant and ongoing process.

NB:The answer below that claims she was imprisoned in the Bastille is simply wrong as is the claim that she is buried at Invalides. Both she and the King are buried in the crypt of St. Denis Basilica just outside of Paris. It is Napoleon and his son, the titular King of Rome, who are buried at Invalides (as are several French Generals)

  3. its at versailles..i went to marie antoinette's corridor..very nice..

  4. versailles is 30 minutes or so from paris, i think.  it's still there.. and behind it and its gardens there is her private retreat, the petite trianon and hammeau.
