My fiancee and I have lived together and dated a total of 6 months. (We met and moved in right away) We are getting married the 6th of Sept. Has anyone been in a similar situation with a long and successful relationship?

  1. I took my man home for a one night stand.

Still together over 16 years later.

  2. I did know my husband for several years before marriage and we have been married for close to 15 years.  However, with that said  I would also say that there is no real rhyme or reason why people stay married and others divorce unless for obvious reason such as abuse, adultery, etc.

You have the same chance at a happy healthy future as the next person so much luck to you in your next step together!

  3. My husband and I moved in together the same week we started dating. We were engaged 3 weeks later. We didn't actually marry until about 9 months later, but we are on year 10 now. We get along great and I have no regrets about the pace we went. As long as you understand the commitment you are making to each other, strive to put each others needs above your own, and communicate, you'll be fine.

  4. You can't and don't know a true person until after a year or so. You need time for the excitement to fade and for reality to set in. Real issues like what to do if he was in a car wreck and you had to take care of him. What would you do? How would you all support e/o? 6 months is like six days in the true relationship world. Espically when both parties are playing nice. What happens in an argument? What about the inlaws? Children? I don't think you are ready if you can't answer these questions properly.

  5. Since your asking this question your not ready for marriage> Live together and see what happens in the future> Just my though>

  6. I met and married within 8 months, it was a total disaster and we are now divorced.

Each to his own, yours of course will last....

  7. Yes. Married nearly 10 years with two beautiful kids.

In the evenings when you get home, do you guys just go over the events of the day?  Or do you also talk about your opinions, feelings and dreams?  Are you closer to your fiancee or your closest friend? When you have a problem, do you generally go to your fiancee or your closest friend?  With whom do you share your fears and your joys?

The point is, do you have intimacy beyond the bedroom?

  8. You have as good a chance as anyone.
