Is there a legal way to do this? Someone once told me I could run an ad in the classifieds and if there was no answer from this person after 30 days then it would be final.That sounds kind of crazy. can anyone give me some help?

You have to advertise your intentions to divorce him and wait the 30 days in my state.  There's a whole section in the paper for legals.  It's just a formality really.  You advertise in the town of his last known address.  Get a lawyer, get it over with.  Good luck!

Talk to a divorce lawyer. When my cousin divorced from her ex that just up and left and was gone for one year before she filed she went to a lawyer explained the situation of not being able to find them. She did run an ad in the paper for 30 days and when she went to court the next month her divorce was granted.
