Married on Mayan Temple/Ruins?

Is it possible to be married on top of a Mayan temple, or even just some old ruins?

They no longer allow people on/in the temples at least at Tulum and Chitzen-Itza (cancun and Mayan Riviera) because a there have been accidents and in recent years one that was fatal.(Chitzen-Itza) where an American woman lost her life. They no longer allow tourists on the temples....

I believe you can still climb the pyramids at Coba.  Go  to the Cancun Discounts sites and click the "Contact Us" at the bottom--they may know for sure if you can get married there.

Mérida would be a good place to consider as it is very close to many ruins,  lots of accommodation options for you and your guests as well, if you wanted to you could look at renting a villa on the gulf coast they can be very reasonable priced in the off season. The off season BTW, is opposite of what you might expect. Basically the villas in places like Chicxulub and Uaymitun are in high demand for July and August, two weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter, outside of those times rentals are reasonably priced.

As for ruins I would also guess that you would be more likely able to do a wedding at a lesser traveled site like Ek Balam or Dzibilchaltun, which has an open air chapel constructed during colonial times. Another consideration may be X'Cambo. While not the most impressive ruins X'Cambo, has a Pyramid that offers a nice view of the surrounding lagoons and at certain times of the year there are thousands of flamingos.
