should we be worried to go and obtain a marriage license, since my fiance is here illegally? What types of document does the non citizen need to show if they have no green card or state Id.

  1. Depending on the state you live in you should be able to get a marriage license with just his ID and to get legal it is a lot easier when he was already legal here before and his visa expired.  Go to the immigration website and they can give you the information you need. Good Luck

  2. Take your fiance with you to your local sheriff and ask him.

  3. Call the Immigration office, and ask, what needs to be done for a person to legalize his status.

  4. I married someone who was illegal, but I worked with a great lawyer and we got everything fixed. I am pretty sure you can get married, but it's always better to be legal first because immigration might want the person to go back to where he/she came from. You can email me with any questions since I have been through this.
