My Korean boyfriend and I are planning to get married here in the Philippines since we are now living together for a total of 2 years and six month. But my boyfriend had to exit from the country once a year because the Korean tourist were allowed to stay in the country not more than a year. Within that year every month he need to extend his visa until a maximum of I year. And My question is if we get married here in the Philippines, Do he still need to renew his visa monthly and exit from the country once a year? Or once we are married is he allowed to stay in the Philippines indefinitely without renewing his tourist visa? Or from the time we tie the knot does he need to get another kind of visa in order to stay with me here in the Philippines indefinitely without spending enough amount for the monthly renewals of his visa? Beside we have a 11 months old baby.

  1. I don't know the immigration law in the Philippines, but this doesn't sound quite right.

He is obviously not a tourist if he has been living there for over 2 years.

Does he work?  Can he legally work with just a tourist visa?  In most countries you may not work on a tourist visa.

I would look into spouse visa requirements.

  2. Complicated

  3. im going through this myself u need to apply for citizenship for him,if theres a prob u may have to put your case in court[GOOD THING} if u can get to court ,u can put ur case forward and having a child helps, unfortunately i dont know much about the phillipino law but i assume what ive said above usually can apply to most countries, seek expert advice form an immigration bureau or solicitor before u apply for any citizenship/visas,good luck

  4. He should only have to renew his visa once every 59 days, not every month.

If you marry, he can only stay if he gets residence.

If you go out of the country and return with him, he can stay for

18 months then apply for an extension of 6 months,He does  not need to renew his visa every 59 days, after that time he must leave the country again, even for just one day,

You go with him again, and he gets another 18 months when he returns....google nbi Philippine's.....you will find all the information you need there.

  5. Yes he will be allowed  to stay
