Marrying a Gambian citizen?

is it true that if you marry a Gambian citizen and you are British with his children that he will not be allowed to return to the UK before 1year if you marry after 1st October 2008 ?

Too many Gambian men have married British women merely as a means of gaining entry to the UK - so the rules have been changed - for other countries too - see arranged marriages from the Indian sub-continent.

One should perhaps think of what it means to marry into a different culture with different expectations and not be rail roaded by a change in the law - be very very certain you understand what will be expected of you and ensure that anyone you intend to marry understands what will be expected of them.  A good marriage is often better for a contract prior to the union - along business like lines - ironing out of the misconceptions and castles in the air.   Does he understand that this is not some sort of Utopia - that we still have racism - that women are not second class citizens brought up to service their men first and foremost?  Having lived in Africa for most of my early life one has to understand that the place of women can be far more onerous than it is in the UK and men may expect to take more than one wife without being accused of adultery.  If you are compatible then by all means marry - but unfortunately love does not conquer all and the differences must be faced in order for them to be resolved.

its a new thing to force some of the illegal immagrant back home if he is illegal and has a solicitor the i advise him to talk to him look on the home office website my partner is from seirra leone so i know little that i have heard from his friends etc
