My man has a british passport, he was born in the UK etc. I've lived in the UK for the past 12 years and I own a Polish passport that i got like a year ago. If we was to marry, would i be eligible for a British passport? I would have my last name changed into his aswell.

Whats the deal with this? Im confused and cant find anything on the internet about this.

Thanks in advance

  1. why would u want a british passport? ...its not candy...u really need to earn it....don't use ur partner...do it urself ..u need to show the brits that ur pariotic!!!!! dont just use them

  2. British Passport may not be important for you anymore, since Poland is in EU too now. If you have been living in UK for 12 years u are eligible for citizenship anyway.

& of course if you both are unmarried - u can marry him anytime.

  3. If you have lived in the UK for 12 years, you are probably eligible for UK citizenship anyway.  No need to change your surname.
