The Rhone giants are not going to allow Rod Fanni and Cesare Azpilicueta to leave the club this summer as they see the duo as an important part of the squad for next season
In order to balance their books, Olympique de Marseille will be forced to let go of some of their big-name players in the upcoming summer transfer window.
France international, Loic Remy, has attracted a lot of interest from English Premier League side Tottenham while Andre Ayew and goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steve-Mandanda-c34177 might also leave Stade Velodrome.
Sources in French media claim that the two more players are also keen on leaving the Velodrome this summer.
Spanish full-back, Cesar Azpilicueta and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rod-Fanni-c31402 are keen to end their time at the club but might not see their wishes granted.
Azpilicueta, who is disappointed at not being picked up by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 will give him a better chance of staying under the radar of the national team.
The young right-back gave a full account of his talents this season and has already caught the eye of several La Liga sides. Azpilicueta was also linked with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 but that might not happen this summer.
However, OM are not really keen on letting go of such a stable defensive option.
Rod Fanni on the other hand, has never hidden his desire to experience playing in a foreign league. The 30-year-old joined from Stade Rennais a while back but still wants to test his skills in a different league.
Though he is under contract at the club until 2013, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 are keen to hold on to him even though they might risk losing him for free next year. Marseille have not yet spoken about a new contract with the player but want to retain him for
at least one more season.
Next season, Olympique de Marseille won’t be playing in the Champions League which is the main reason why Les Phoceens have been forced to consider selling a few stars.
However, holding on to the likes of Azpilicueta and Fanni could pay dividends next season.
