The Nancy Lorraine striker is attracting a lot of interest from the Rhone giants who are likely to lose the services of Loic Remy and Brandao this summer
Except Loic Remy, rest of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 strikers namely Brandao and Andre-Pierre Gignac have rarely justified the investment made on them. With 175,000 Euros a month, Brandao has not really been in great goalscoring form. Ditto for Andre-Pierre
Gignac who earns 320,000 euros a month for doing practically nothing.
Therefore, Les Phoceens are not so keen on retaining the services of these two strikers and would be eager to sell them when the summer transfer window opens. And if this happens, one thing is for sure, OM will not sign a striker whose profile resembles
that of Gignac and Brandao.
While talking to media, sporting director Jose Anigo said that he will no more buy slow strikers as they are not made for OM’s system. Anigo says that over the years, Les Phoceens have used quick strikers who know how to utilise space.
“And I also know that I will not sign slow strikers for Marseille anymore. I realised that these pivotal players were not made for OM. Our history and our game is that we encourage fast strikers, who like space rather than physical challenges.”
According to Le 10 Sport, Marseille are now keeping a close eye on Nancy Lorraine striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Djamel-Bakar-c11362. The 23-year-old joined the Alsace club back in 2009 and though hasn’t scored many goals, has proven to be quite a handful.
The striker’s pace is an attribute that Jose Anigo is looking for and Bakar could find his goalscoring touch if he is around better players.
Under contract at ASNL until 2013, the Marseille native is currently surrounded by a contractual situation that could force Nancy to sell him this summer.
After playing for AS Monaco from 2006 to 2009, Bakar joined Nancy Lorraine in 2009 for just 2.5 million euros.
Though he is not really a lethal goalscorer, Djamel Bakar is a young player and has shown that he can have a better goals to games ratio if he is around good players so he might prove to be the perfect bargain for Marseille this summer.
