In a bid to increase the depth in their midfield, Olympique de Marseille are now keeping tabs on young midfielder Romain Alessandrini who is currently playing for Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot
For the upcoming summer transfer window, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 have decided to make Ligue 2 their hunting ground. Already, the Rhone giants are keeping tabs on Ryan Mendes, Florian Raspentino and Leroy Benjamin.
As things stand in the league, it seems clear that Marseille will not have a European adventure next season. Though agonising, this might be a blessing in disguise for the club to start from the scratch and build a team for the next two or three years.
In order to do that, Les Phoceens must put their faith in the young players. Already, Marseille are keeping tabs on few young talents in Ligue 2.
Linked with moves for Ryan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mendes-c25206 (Le Havre), Florian Raspentino (Nantes) and Benjamin Leroy (Tours), the residents of Stade Velodrome are now monitoring the progress of 23-year-old Romain Alessandrini. The attacking midfielder is currently under contract
at Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot where he is in great form.
This season, the youngster has scored 8 goals and has provided three assists and could end the season with better stats than his last season in which he scored 11 goals and had seven assists to his name.
The Marseille-born midfielder joined Clermont Foot from Gueugnon in 2010 and since then, has become an integral part of the Clermont-Ferrand-based club.
Reports claim that a check of just 3 million Euros would be enough to secure the services of the exciting midfielder.
However, there are a few complications in this case. Nancy Lorraine are already hot on the trails of Alessandrini. On Sunday, Nancy coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jean-c18112 Fernandez was in the stands of the Auguste Delaune where Clermont drew 2-2 with Stade Reims.
The youngster scored the first goal for the away side and gave a good performance. A few Serie A clubs are also interested in his services but Alessandrini’s lifelong dream to play for OM could play a big role in his future.
“Since I was little, OM was the club in my heart. Right now, it’s not going too well for them. OM makes me dream and I have always followed them.”
Despite their recent troubles, Alessandrini is keen to play for a club he has supported forever so Marseille might find this transfer easier than most.
