Marseille manager Didier Deschamps dismisses Arsenal link with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Valbuena-c24690
Marseille have gone on to officially dismiss any and all links, that stated Arsenal’s interest in landing Mathieu Valbuena from the French club.
Didier Deschamps, the Marseille manager, has gone on to state that this talk was nothing more than, "typical transfer window rumours".
There were reports that surfaced over the weekend, which stated that the Gunners were hot on the heels of Valbuena. However, despite the player’s agent dismissing these link ups, it took the Marseille manager to come forth himself, in order for most to rubbish
this potential transfer.
Deschamps when talking about this rumour, is quoted to have said: "This is just one of those typical transfer window rumours. There are numerous fantasy stories like this doing the rounds in this period"

"Mathieu has developed into a full international here and is a player with a lot of quality. However, I have been here for two years now and we have not received a single concrete offer. If an interesting offer comes in, we will certainly consider it, but this
is not the case as of now."
The twenty six year old French international is currently under contract with Marseille, until 2014. Due to that fact, most experts are stating that in order for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 to land the player (if they ever want to), they would have to make an offer worth around
fourteen million pounds.
Arsenal are currently set to lose out on highly talented French international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360. The midfielder has stated that he wishes to become the world player of the year and in order for him to do that, he needs to win titles. Considering Arsenal are now
in their sixth year without a trophy, it seems like Nasri’s future lays elsewhere.
Nonetheless, Valbuena might be the closest that the Gunners are going to get to landing a Nasri replacement. Both the players are French internationals and both of them play in almost the same position on the pitch.
Valbuena gets the edge over Nasri when it comes to pace, as he is slightly quicker than Nasri. However, Nasri has better passing and the ability to take better set-pieces. On the other hand, Valbuena has quicker footwork and tends to integrate dribbling
past players, as an integral part of his game.
That being said, Arsenal’s primary focus is going to be on keeping Nasri at the Emirates for as long as they possibly can. However, should the midfielder leave the team no choice, they should let him go for a reasonable fee and try to lure in Valbuena, which
seems to be the smartest thing the team can do in this situation.
