The president of the Rhone club presented the budget for 2012/2013 season to the DNCG this Wednesday that has been reduced by 30%
It is clear that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 are unlikely to be the most active French club this summer in the transfer market. The supporters of Les Phoceens were certainly expecting this to happen and it was confirmed by the club’s president Vincent Labrune
this Wednesday.
If many players have left to play at the Euros, the club direction is still walking on red hot coals.
The strongman of the club has now presented the club’s budget for the 2012/2013 season to Direction national http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Du-c11689 contrôle de gestion (DNCG). The results of this meeting mean that the Rhone giants will no more be active in the transfer window and will be looking
to reduce the current payroll before even delving in the transfer window.
To complete the 2011/2012 fiscal year, which was in deficit due to the high wage bill and disappointing league ranking, owner Margarita Louis-Dreyfus was forced to reach deep in her pockets.
However, the club should not expect any such thing from the owner next season.
Therefore, Labrune chose to reduce the budget for next season by 30%.
“We have presented a minimum budget which is a little over 100 million euros against 145 million last season,” said the president while talking to French media.
This clearly means that Les Phoceens will not be looking to go big in the transfer market.
The president later on revealed that there will be no new signings prior to sale. In order to prepare for tough financial times, the residents of Stade Velodrome need to ease the payroll which means that several key players are likely to leave Le Vieux Port.
“The sum of purchases of incoming players and their salaries will be less than the sum of sales of outgoing players,” said Labrune.
The strategy though not inspiring for the fans, is a necessary step that the club has to take.
However, Marseille did well last season when they signed the likes of N’Koulou and Amalfitano for low price which is pretty good considering the fact that the club paid so much money for Gignac. Didier Deschamps on the other hand, would be looking to find
a good talent at a knockdown price this summer.
