I ordered some practice nunchucks but I was wondering what the best martial arts weapon is? I was thinking it was the sai or nunchucks.

Also I was wondering what the easiest weapon of martial arts is to master. I have no training what so ever.

  1. whatever you are most comfortable with.

any weapon can be good if you know how to use it, the main decisive factor is whether or not a weapon is good for you, if you feel comfortable using the weapon, if you have skill using the weapon etc...

Myself I'm an avid user of the bokken (wooden training sword)   but many of my friends prefer using a staff.

    each their own

  2. Those are realy fun to work with and realy cool. Id also suggest bo stafs

  3. Bo staffs are really easy to handle.  Sai are REALLY!!!!!! hard.  They are heavy and it's hard to flip them the right way.

  4. weapons are for woman!

  5. well along with arts there is no best weapon.  The weapon by itself cannot do any harm to others and it cannot be a dangerous threat.  However when held by a person that is when it becomes dangerous.  It is all in the person, if the person is a begginer than the weapon is not dangerous, in the hands of a master it can kill.

So to answer you question the best martial arts weapon is the one held by the best martial artist in the world, who is also the best martial artist when it comes to fighting with that wepon.

And the easiest weapon to learn is the Bo Staff

  6. Hi.

The bo staff is among the easiest weapons to master and is the weapon that is usually first taught at any given martial arts school.

There really is no best weapon, it is personal preference.  If you like nunchaku (nun chucks) and work hard at mastering them then those will be your personal best weapon.

Each weapon has it's advantages and disadvantages.  For example, the sai are very good defensive weapons, they are nearly unbreakable and their blows are devastating.  However they have a short reach (unless you throw them) and are a bit sluggish compared to some other, lighter weapons.

Nunchaku are hard to defend against and are quite devastating to your attacker.  On the other hand they are hard to control and can be just as devastating to the user if used improperly, they also have a short range.

Some weapons are specialized.  The rope dart, for example, is a metal dart attached to a rope; it is a very long range weapon that was used to attack opponents from distances, perhaps even horsemen that would have otherwise been difficult to kill.  However is has no defensive capabilities making it useful for really only one main purpose.  It is probably the best martial arts weapon for its purpose but certainly not the overall best martial arts weapon.

Similarly, there are many weapons that were great for their purposes but fell short in other areas.  Some were designed to be concealed so you could have a defensive (or assassination) tool with you at all times.  Some were designed for the battlefield but weren't suited to combat in a city (and vice versa).  Some were improvised weapons, objects you could find laying around at the time of their discovery as useful weapons (examples; nunchaku, kama, Kung Fu bench, etc...) and in that way they were useful at the time but would have probably never been designed as weapons.

There is no best weapon that is equally good at everything, and even if there was it would probably be very hard to use and therefore at a disadvantage in that way.  The best you can hope for is to find a weapon that you are good at and that you prefer, beyond that there are simply too many factors to take into account to pick just one weapon as the best.

    I hope this helps :)

  7. As for the best weapon, depends on the purpose.

As to the easiest weapon to master, depends on both the student and the teacher.
