After becoming increasingly suspicious of the story the Government gave about 9/11 I started surfing the web. I ran across a site that I am now somewhat drawn to. Infowars.com. For the first time ever, I was reading and watching things that the "main stream" media would never report. Something a came to learn about was Martial Law.

Martial Law is a very frightening thing.....apparently it could happen with a stroke of a pen by our president. I would just like to know your thoughts on this subject.

Thanks

  1. It could happen, and it WILL happen in the future, but only if the people let it happen.

  2. Martial Law is very likely to happen one day, also a form of Posse Comitatus (use of military for domestic matters).  Does the fence going up around the U.S. to protect the borders sound kind of fishy?  There are alot of things going on today to detract from the real issues at hand.  We as a society seem to care more about tabloid media than what's really happening around us and in our community.  Martial law is a possibility.

  3. Not likely...and no, Hurricane Katrina did not cause Martial Law to be invoked.  I was there at the time.  The national guard was called in to help, but the civilian authorities were still very much in charge.

  4. Yes, Hurricane Katrina was the last, and an exceptional, event that required martial law. If you recall, people were attempting to flee including a large number of N.O. Police officers. Thus the few N.O. police who remained were overwhelmed. Some gang/criminal elements had automatic weapons and were shooting and looting. The city was lawless and because of that fact martial law was imposed and the National Guard was called in. Our nation's Constitution prohibits the army from acting as a police force.

  5. already has----Hurricane Katrina.

  6. Martial law is only used in very serious situations. The last time it was used was in the civil war by President Lincoln. Dont worry it probally wont happen ever again but if you woudl like to watch a movie a little about is The Siege I suggest it. It is really good. Try not to worry about it to much.

                    I hope that helped

  7. In my eyes, it's happened twice now:

Katrina, and for the last week in Helena AK. Granted it's not actually martial law, but it's still too close for my comfort. for the last 8 days, the mayor of the city has issued an "on going 24-hour curfew". In other words, if you're outside, the police WILL stop you and you'd better have a d**n good alibi. Two things about this. One, it's illegal. Two, it's not gonna help fight crime (which is the official reasoning behind it). Of all the things street criminals DON'T care about, a curfew is probably near the top of the list. I know both sides of the argument over Helena. And I'm sure it is bad. But bad neighborhoods have never been a legitimate reason to turn even a section of the city into a police state.

  8. Yes it could happen. Like the above poster stated, it last happened in Hurricane Katrina. There comes a point where the government is forced to intervene. If it's that bad then you should be grateful of the support.
