Martial Law looking to win Handicap Hurdle
Martial Law is looking to add another epic victory to his career chart by winning Executive Hire Show Celebrating 40 Years Handicap Hurdle at Towcester racecourse on Monday, May 14. The Class 4 contest will start at 7:30 (GMT).
On the soft track of 2 miles, the legendary trainer David Pipe’s veteran gelding will run against 4 rivals such as Santo Thomas, Rough Times, Kadouchski and Midnight Spirit. The winner will be awarded a cash prize worth £2,534.
Martial Law has beautifully won 3 of his total 20 starts so far. The six-year-old maverick horse’s last victory came in May 2011. Thus, he has been struggling for almost a year. However, the talented sprinter has delivered some outstanding performances during
this period.
The brilliant son of Galileo out of Tree Tops elegantly finished 4th against a dozen of runners in his second last start on February 23, 2012.
Keeping in view the horse’s unique racing skills and classic feats, the punters have given him a favourite tag for the Handicap Hurdle and this will definitely be an additional advantage for him. Martial Law’s chances to finish first are as high as 90 percent
provided he does not lose heart on the track.
Among the other runners, Kadouchski and Midnight Spirit are expected to do well today.
Kadouchski has won 5 of his total 45 starts so far. The John Berry-trained bay gelding has had great time in each of his three races since the start of 2012. After finishing 3rd against a dozen of contestants on February 24, the experienced horse
moved on to grab 8th spot in the next outing. He stood 5th in his last start on May 7.
On the other hand, Midnight Spirit nicely finished first against 12 rivals in a big race on February 26, 2012. Martin Bosley’s bay gelding earned a runner-up rank in the very next outing on March 5. The 45-race old hand finished 4th against 10
runners in his last going on April 8.
There will be a close competition in the race and Martial Law is likely to carry the day convincingly. Good luck to all the 5 contestants.
