  1. I would say that is Horse Stance is better, but i thinks that

wall sit/90 degree is good if you want to increase your endurance for Horse stance

  2. Both have their place. Use both.

  3. This one is difficult to answer because I have done them both to the breaking point, where you can not hold the stance any longer and they both are equal because they both focus on the quad muscles. So I suggest that you take two quarters and get into one of the positions and place one quarter on each leg about three inches from the knee, hold the position for one minute without letting the quarters fall. Then do the same thing with the other stance, and you decided which one is harder for you.

  4. wow ppl, horse stance is easy, i think wall sits are harder and better

  5. The wall stance as you're fighting gravity pulling you in an unnatural position. The Horse Stance is a modified natural stance as far as support of the upper torso's weight is concerned. Do them properly and you will see. I've done both for extensive periods of time in one sitting.

  6. depends if you do them properly. Wall site almost force you to stand with a straight back. Your supposed to stand in a horse stance this way, if not wall sites are harder.

  7. horse stance

  8. if you're not considering both answers then my answer is horse stance",) its harder than u thought

  9. horse stance.........

  10. back in the early 1970's I spent around 5 yrs. training white crane style Gung Fu here in canada from Sifu (master) Frank P. Lee.....

he placed a lot of emphasis on working on your horse stance as that was the basis of stamina in gung fu performance....the ultimate achievement being able to hold it for a solid one hour (which I was never able to do, 15-20 min. max for me)...

so passing on the lesson from a world gung fu master....I would say unaided free-standing horse stance....and man oh man it is agonizing!!

  11. i say horse stance is harder...

  12. God, I hate the horse stance. Hurts soooo bad after just a few minutes. I'd rather do wall sits, but the horse stance is better for your leg muscles (makes them stronger).

  13. Well iam a black belt and i think wall sits are harder for the students i help teach. I guess it all depends on if your in a correct horse stance.(your weight should be on the outside of your feet or the knive edge.) Personaly i think wall sits are harder but differnt people can act differntly.
