  1. some say it is the martial art that produce champions.

others say it is because of the men themselves and not the art.

I think it is a combination of both the man and the martial art. When the combination is close to perfect, you have yourself a champion. It is like car racing, you need a talented driver as well as a fast car in order to win.

If you have a great martial art (and a great master), but the student is only an average Joe with average abilities and talents, he can become very good martial artist, but he won't be able to become a champion.

If you have a very talented students with great abilities, but you are doing an average martial arts system (incomplete), he can also become very good martial artist, but he won't be able to become a champion.

If you combine Taekwondo with someone who is heavy weight with short legs, then, you are creating a bad combination. The student could have been very good in wrestling, or bjj, but, taekwondo just would not work on him.

The best style would be a style that emphasis on skills such that once you completed the system, you can fight and

    1. win against anyone regardless of sizes, strength, power

    2. win against any style, as well as

    3. win standing up or on the ground.

    4. win without any rules.

That is what you call a compete  and comprehensive martial art system.

That is why in the old days in china, they have platform fighting, you want to prove your style is better. you get on build a platform and invite anyone to challenge you. Or they have platform competitions. Any style that has the most fighters including the champion amount  the top 10 fighters in that tournament, has to be a style that is the best in that area, in that particular moment in time.

Unfortunately, we don't have that sort of competition anymore, because people can die during the tournament and it is not acceptable in today's society.

UFC is a compromise, but is would limit a lot of styles from winning because of a limited use of legal techniques.

It would be good if perhaps a third world country, where the laws permit it to  host a tournament with no rules  platform fighting like the old days, and top fighters from all over the world are invited to participate, in a similar fashion to Blood Sport or Fearless, then, it would be great to see which martial  arts would dominate the platform and for how long can it stays on top.

  2. Now honestly!

I have to answer that it is not the art but the practioner. It's the practioners of a certain art that makes them the strongest. That is the real answer.

My opinion is that Muay Thai is the strongest and most powerful of all the martial arts. It's explosivity and powerful kicks remained unmatched in terms of power. A thai kick will crush a tae kwon do round house kick.

But when all is said and done what good is a thai kick when you're on the ground being choked out.

So really its a silly question. Become a master of all arts.

  3. the one which encompasses all techniques to deal with all eventualities, something like goju ryu; but using a specific technique against any individual system which emphasises that technique i.e. trying to box a boxer, then there is no contest. that is why any decent fighters have training in multiple disciplines.

  4. ATOMIC BOMB JITSU!!!  No defense to it.

  5. pugpaws2 and monkey d have hit the nail on the head, its not the system/art it is the calibre of the martial artist every time. i have had the pleasure and the pain of meeting some of these extraordinary people.people of this calibre come from a wide spectrum of disciplines from okinawan karate to aiki-jitsu to systema.it has been an honour and a pleasure to know them.

  6. Come on this kind of question gets asked at least ten times a day. There is no superior art, only superior martial artists, based on their training and skills.

  7. none its the martial artist not the art you noob
