  1. when you are doing martial art, all your activity must be to increase the power of your techniques. So, if you are wrestle you man want more strength, but Muay Thai, you may want lean and explosive techniques. So your training should be about power and endurance

  2. i wouldnt bulk up too much, if you notice when watching martial arts those guys arent really big. but yeah, strength trainings always good and maybe run like a mile a day to keep ur agilty/speed up.

help me if u can? (need a couple mor opinions)

  3. i would say focus on the muscles as they need to be focused on.

you need explosive power in your trices and your legs to aid with the muay thai aspect while at the same time you need more constance power in your biceps and...   the back part of yourlegs i believe for wrestling.

although your best bet would be to ask your instructors about this really.

  4. I don't think you need the 10 lbs you are trying to gain - 10 lbs will put you at 205 walking around weight.  You would probably want to fight at 185...that's 20 lbs to cut.  Or you could fight at 205 and not cut at all, but you'd be a small guy in that weight division.

I'd stay at 195 and focus on the high rep / low weight training and tons of cardio.  That way you'll be a pretty big guy fighting at 185 and won't have to kill yourself to make weight.

Like another poster pointed out MMA is more about technique and conditioning than size and strength.  Look at the guys at the top of the UFC - GSP is the most muscular / defined, but he still relies on speed, conditioning and technique over simple brute strength.  Get yourself in good cardio shape and you'll do better in the long run.

  5. 10 lbs spread out over your body won't even be noticeable as far as bulkyness goes.  Don't worry about it.  Your gonna want to do some endurance training too (20-25 reps per set)....thats better for fighting

  6. as long as you stretch and keep flexability you could get as big as you what look at sean sherk.good luck

  7. none of these answers are good, im 16 and been doing mma for years, big muscle is not needed, but more of like a lean muscle, just do alot of light weights with alot of reps it you will be able to tell your bodies muscles will start to become more defined and will grow some, mma fighters dont concentrate on lifting or being big its all about stamina being able to last those 5 rounds.
