Martin Adams, Joe Perry help raise funds through charity match in England – Snooker news
The Darts legend Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams and The Man from Sicily Joe Perry have helped in raising more than 2,000 pounds in a 24-hour pool charity marathon at the March Royal British Legion Club in Fenland on Saturday.
Both players showcased their magnificent skills and gathered a huge crowd around them. Many were keen to challenge the top players and thus made donations to the Club to play against Adams and Perry.
One of the charities, Andy Harvey was able to pocket a memorable win for himself, as he defeated the star in an eight-ball action with a clearance. The current BDO World Champion, Adams, on the other hand remained unbeaten in Darts. However, he then participated
in the pool action to raise further funds for the club.
Paul Larham, who was one of the legion’s team members, told the media about both players. He admired their friendship and good gestures.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Both Joe and Martin were very friendly, very open and enjoyed the challenge while having a laugh at the same time.”
Larham also remarked he was pretty impressed by Adams on the pool table. He said Adams, who is best known for his skills in the Darts department, was inspiring on the pool table.
“I played ‘Wolfie’ Adams at pool and I must say he’s better on the oche than he is at the pool table. However, it was a great experience helped by the fact that both Perry and him are so down to earth,” Larham said.
He also commented on Andy Harvey’s win and said he was very delighted after beating the world number 27, Perry.
He stated, “Andy Harvey was over the moon when he beat Joe - who of course took it all in good spirits. It was a fantastic day.”
Karl Wales and Gary Brinn organised the event along with all of the legion’s pool team players.
