Martin Adams eyes the dream for championship, Scottish Open
With the intent of making his way into the Scottish Open this week, Martin Adams, or the Wolfie, is aiming high to once again make his presence in the mainstream of darts.
Adams is all geared to showcase his darts skills after he suffered a humiliating defeat at the Dutch Open, despite being a hot favourite contender to grab the trophy.
In a surprising turn of events, Adams was chucked out of the tournament in a rather surprising defeat that he suffered at the hands of the amateur Dutch player, Venken.
With his elimination from the quarter-finals of the event, it was Tony O’ Shea who finally emerged as the winner of the championship.
However, Wolfie is willing to marginalise all such memories to turn over a new leaf.
He stated, “It was probably not my best performance in Holland and obviously I was disappointed with the result but these things happen”.
He further said that the competitive context among Dutch players is much more intense than that experienced in England. Hence, anyone can turn out to be a surprise package.
“But I am pleased with the way I am playing and looking forward to the Scottish Open next weekend. Hopefully I can go up there, play well and put together some good results,” he commented.
The Scottish Open, which will be going underway from this week, will be featuring the presence of various top-tier darts players.
Experts and pundits of darts have their fingers crossed to see how well each contestant will be able to perform in this event, as no player has won the event more than once.
The last time that Adams won this event was in 2005, and since then, he has been yearning for it.
Pundits believe that the vast experience Wolfie has in the BDO circuit will definitely be of help to him when it comes to the Scottish Open.
All he needs to do is to get a hold on his grip, so that he does not lose his nerve in the crucial moments of the game.
In addition to this, it is important for him to remain confident about his performance and realise the seniority and superiority that he enjoys in darts.
