Martin Brundle thinks criticism on Romain Grosjean will end soon – Formula 1 news
Former Formula 1 driver, Martin Brundle thinks that criticism on Romain Grosjean of Lotus will end soon and backs up the Frenchman to perform well in the remainder of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Grosjean has been surrounded by immense criticism over his aggressive driving style and has faced many penalties in the season so far. He was also banned from taking part in a race after causing an accident in the Belgian Grand Prix due to which three other
drivers including, Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and Sergio Perez of Sauber were retired.
Afterwards, even though he was very cautious in the Korean GP but he is still in a position at which he may face multiple race bans if he gets involved in anymore trouble.
Nevertheless, Brundle has supported the 26-year-old and has admired his driving skills. Furthermore, he said that Grosjean will soon be able to take himself out of trouble and will emerge as a responsible driver.
“You can make a fast driver more cautious, but you can’t make a cautious driver faster. Romain just needs a few races under his belt without incident, then the criticism will subside,” he is quoted by the German-language Speed Week.
It will be important to mention that the team principal of Lotus, Eric Boullier has also shown support to his driver and has said that he is learning from his mistakes. Besides, he admired the performance of the French driver in the preceding race and said
that they are ready to provide him with everything which he may need to improve his performance in the forthcoming races.
“I think the kid has speed and obviously if you look at global picture of this season and if you fix this issue at start of race he did very decent job and he will deserve to have another chance in F1, at least longer term,” Boullier said. “I think he is
learning from this experience and it will only make him a stronger driver.”
Let’s see how Grosjean and his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen perform in the remaining four grands prix of the ongoing season.
