Martin Guptill has a formula for the upcoming Australia tour – Cricket News Update
Martin Guptill, the hard-hitting New Zealand opener, feels his side would have to play some aggressive cricket if they are to trounce Australia at home in their upcoming tour down under, commencing on December 1, 2011, in Brisbane.
New Zealand and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Guptill-c1980 has urged his side to be aggressive if they are to return victorious.
"They've been the top http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 daily. "We're going to have to show some aggression over there, we can't really back off. They're going to bring the fight to us
and we're going to have to take it back to them,'' he insisted.
New Zealand have not played much competitive cricket since the 2011 Cricket World Cup in the subcontinent earlier this year. The Kiwis have only toured low-ranked http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 in the past eight months.
Australia on the other hand, toured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 and his men are in South Africa, where they have recently
concluded a successful tour with a remarkable last moment win in the second Test of the two-match series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, to draw the series 1-1.
Teenage Aussie pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Iftikhar-Ali-Khan-Pataudi-Nawab-of-c64075 Cummins – who recently made a dazzling Test debut at New Wanderers, claiming a six-wicket haul - will be a new challenge for New Zealanders this summer.
When asked about Cummins, the New Zealand top order batsman said that they have not seen too much of the rookie pacer but they will go down under with some plans to counter Cummins’ attack.
"We haven't seen too much of him [Cummins] but ... we'll be ready for him,'' Guptill said. "He looks pretty quick, but we're going to put some plans in place to be able to counter that,” he added further.
Guptill, the 25-year-old right-handed batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766, urged his teammates to give their absolute best during the down under tour.
"We just have to do our jobs right," said Guptill. "If everyone can do that then we're going to go very well in this Test series.''
