The Slovakian football player has fired a barb at Rubin Kazan’s Jesus Navas and has hailed the Russian Football Union’s decision to penalize the Spanish defender
An executive committee of the Russian Football Union has given a verdict to penalize Rubin Kazan defender, Jesus Navas, to serve a seven-match ban after showing an utterly rude composure to hit Amkar Perm striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Jakubko-c24382,
in the face.
The incident took place when these two players were playing the Russian Premier League tie at Tsentralnyi stadium earlier this month. Jakubko is expected to miss at least two-months with a serious facial injury after being hit
by the former Sevilla player.
Navas, on the other hand, was lucky enough to escape a booking in the respective encounter. However, Jakubko filed a case against Navas after presenting an x-ray of a broken jaw to the disciplinary committees.
Jakubko, who underwent a facial surgery after the sad event, has assured the fans of returning to the field as soon as possible. The Slovakian striker told them that he will come back stronger.
And while Navas has apologized for what he did on the pitch after insisting that it was completely unintentional, Jakubko thinks otherwise.
Reports in Russian media suggest that the Slovakian footballer provoked Navas to hit him after teasing him on the pitch. Jakubko has shrugged off such reports, saying that he is completely innocent.
“I think he deliberately gave me an injury and thus deprive me not only the opportunity to play football, but also receive bonuses and incentives. I think he is responsible. Believe me, I did not provoke him. I went down on the
field after he hit me with his elbow on my head. He hit me on the face after the first challenge.”
“I'm fine. I had a operation which lasted for one and a half hours. They put four screws and a metal plate after surgery. I will stay with my family and work on my fitness until the rehabilitation period.” The former Dynamo Moscow
player was quoted as saying.
Jakubko lamented his current physical condition, insisting that he feels uncomfortable when he thinks about the injury.
