Martin Johnson admitted Scots are not as weak as they look – Six nations update
England’s coach, Martin Johnson has pronounced Scotland’s weak performances to be forgotten when England takes on the Scottish side at Twickenham. It is an important match for England and if they win this one, they will be just one step behind the Grand
Slam title. Meanwhile, Scotland has not won even a single match this Six Nations and when they face England next weekend, they will be looking forward to prevent England from snatching the title.
Though, Scotland has been giving poor performances, but Johnson doesn’t want to underestimate the team and demands from his side to be focused on the target and show no leniency, as Scotland has the record of making a comeback if given loose hand. Even against
Ireland defeat, Scotland kept the Irish defense on their toes in the last stage of match, when Ireland started to take it easy and gave away a few penalties.
Johnson has seen England pass through one of the dangerous threats of this season, France, and is looking forward to give a good note to this winning streak by not letting Scotland any chance to come forward. After the 17-9 victory over France, English side
is at the peak of its confidence and Johnson fears that they might make a blinder in over confidence.
He declared Scotland as a difficult side, if given slightest of room to play. He admitted Scotland has a few big names and thing might get greasy at any moment of the game. Scotland fears to pick up the wooden spoon and will be giving in their best to win
this one. Scotland has already slammed the Grand Slam ambitions of England in 1990 at Murrayfield and then again in 2000.
Johnson said, “They will come down and they will be desperate. They had a good autumn and beat South Africa but results haven't gone their way. It will be a real tough, tenacious, under-rated Scotland team that will come down and that makes them dangerous.”
On the other hand Nick Easter had something else to say, while talking to media. He said, “The Scots adjacent to the English with an account involved they always seem to lift up their game. They will come at us viciously. We're under no daydream; it's going
to be a hard Test match.”
