  1. his on-field leadership qualities are unquestionable his off-field abilities are far from that

he has no experience of coaching at any level... to appoint someone like MJ is a huge gamble

  2. yes

  3. I think he will be good as he has done it at the highest level as a player, hope he transfer some of that Knowledge to coaching. He has also played with most of the players in the England squad so should command their respect.

  4. who cares rugby c**p and is watched by idiots

  5. He was a great player and captain and knows the game but he's had no experience managing a team. It's big gamble and they would have been better off looking at someone with a proven history in the club game, such as Dean Richards.

  6. only time will tell

  7. This depends if he has the same qualities as a coach as he did as captain!

As a captain, he was very inspirational leader  with good direction qualities. He  is up there as one of the best leaders in the world in my opinion!

He has played with some of the current squad, but again, a few of these maybe contemplating retirement.

His inexperience as a manager maybe his downfall though and I cannot understand why they picked him over someone like him above Shaune Edwards, who has far more managerial experience than Johnno!

Mind you, this is good news for Wales!

His first appointment to join his staff, in my opinion should be Lawrence Dallaglio, another inspirational player!

  8. He obviously knows most of the team well and is passionate about rugby and england doing well so he should choose the best team and who knows maybe things will go well?

If Martin Johnsons team fail to deliver time and time again then he could go from being one of englands greatest to someone people dislike, this is my only worry.

I think its good for english rugby though as hes certainly one h**l of a leader.

Still glad we got Shaun Edwards though ;-)

  9. Bad.

I don't  think he has sufficient charisma.

  10. Bad decision for the game in Pommie land, but good luck to the man

  11. Bad. Forget the rugby. When he learns to respect the President, and a lady at that, when he is a visitor to her country then he may be fit to be a leader

  12. I've aways admired and slightly lusted after Martin Johnson. He was a good player and will be a great manager.

As an aside, I hear Eddie O'Sullivan is going cheap, wonder why they didn't choose him....................

  13. GOOD

  14. GOOD - so far! Hope hes not the rugby version of steve mcclaren. Let you know in abouth 6 months time!!

  15. i think it is great for welsh rugby,  this is the same martin johnson that was an absolute thug on the pitch and the only reason he was never band because he played for england.  never had any discipline and i hope he passes his thuggery onto his players.  don't know who the other martin johnson your all on about though is.

  16. I think it will be good for England Rugby. Ashton was a little self centered and I think it afffected how he coached. A change will be good. It will also take a while for everyone to be comfortable with a new coach and the way that he does things. But the change should be good.
