Martin Kaymer becomes brand ambassador for Hugo Boss – Golf news
World number one Martin Kaymer of Germany has signed a deal with Hugo Boss and will now be seen portraying the Boss Green in all tournaments.
This was confirmed by Hugo Boss AG Senior Vice President Communication Philipp Wolff in a press conference held in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Links golf course, where Martin Kaymer participated in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship recently.
Wolff said, “Hugo Boss has maintained close links with the golfing world for many years. By launching a long-term association with Martin Kaymer, we are resolutely reaffirming this strategy – and ensuring that our Boss Green line is a presence on the world's
leading golf courses for years to come.”
Wolff highlighted the criteria for Kaymer’s selection. He said that Hugo Boss was looking for skills, personality and professionalism in their brand ambassador and Kaymer had all the qualities. He however did not mention the period of contract with the German.
But he did disclose the basic clauses of the deal. He said that Kaymer would endorse the Boss Green at all the tournaments and will appear in the Boss Black collection at all official events. This includes photo shoots and promotional events as well.
Moreover, Hugo Boss and Martin Kaymer will develop a new range using Kaymer’s name as a brand.
Kaymer expressed his delight over yet another accomplishment. He said, “I'm delighted to be teaming up with Hugo Boss. The company is synonymous with excellent quality and fashion innovation.”
Martin is the third German to team up with Hugo Boss after Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Langer. In addition to the German, the brand has endorsement deals with Henrik Stenson, Nick Watney, Ben Crane, Noh Seung-Yul and Alexander Noren.
Apart from endorsing big names in golf, Hugo Boss is sponsoring three tournaments on the European Tour, which includes the BMW PGA Championship, BMW International Open and the UBS Hong Kong Open.
